A native Floridian, Phillips P. O'Shaughnessy received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1969 and obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland in 1974. In law school, he was a member of the Order of the Coif, and he served as an Articles Editor for the Maryland Law Review. After graduating from law school, Mr. O'Shaughnessy practiced as an associate at Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine in New York City, and as an associate and partner at Smith, Somerville & Case in Baltimore, Maryland. Later, in Baltimore, he co-founded Sandblower, Gabler & O'Shaughnessy, P.A., and served as a partner there until 1994 when he founded the AV-rated firm of Phillips P. O’Shaughnessy, P.A.
Mr. O'Shaughnessy is licensed to practice law in Florida, New York, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Since opening Phillips P. O’Shaughnessy, P.A., in Fort Lauderdale in 1998, Mr. O'Shaughnessy has represented clients in cases involving professional negligence, civil litigation, business torts, contract disputes, legal malpractice, and personal injury.
